first day of work with Philips = nervous! promoting the monitors is my job. to be in touch with something i've never bother to know better was a little disasterous. product knowledge was the one i had contacted with first. oh gosh, more studying.. i almost drowned in the 5 cm thick of product specifications. you know, i never like to revise my notes. :P i had an interview on last saturday. the first person i've met was hock meng. i got to know him through kenneth ( who was the one whom got me the job! thanks!). a really nice person, gave me a lesson of understand the specs. he had notes written on and even a graph to add on to his explanation. then it's up to me to revise them on my own. mr lim aka boss was my interviewer. he seems to be a very fierce person, thot. i even experienced his volcano! :P to work with him on my first day will be so undesirable. unexpectedly , Raymond ( another boss i think) was the Head of the day. he is very friendly and even taught me pretty much about promoting and product knowledge. there was also friendly-cum-experience colleagues like hock meng, choon peng, valerie and another guy ( i didnt asked for his name) who guided me along the way through. choon peng aka the dinosaur was my mentor. he taught every basic stuff that i'd have to know for my selling products. this time, i learnt them in ways of promoting it to my customers. he sounded just like he had been promoting Philips monitors for life! even customers complimentated him for his great speaking ability! i am privelleged to have him as my shi fu. i was then left on my own. i "killed" myself by er-ing too much. being a newbie, you tense to have lesser confidence, since you are having lesser knowledge and experience of your own selling products. er-ing was a way i expressed myself when i'm actually having quick thoughts in my mind. my bad habit, as commented by a customer, who eventually i sold my third screen too. oh yay, was very grateful to my four customers who actually brought screens for me depise my inconvincing preaching. incredibetly, i sold four screens! i dont know was it good or bad performance of a newbie. but selling four screens on my first day actually gave me more pressure to sell more screens in the future. but i'll tried my best to work for the better. i want my commission! :P many things happened and soon i realised that i lost/ was unwilling to build relationships with my colleagues. they dont really talk to me much of other stuff than helping me. it was very rude of me for not bidding goodbye after a long day work and help receive by my seniors. sorry guys! there was another girl who seems very unapproachable. her name was zen, i think. zen and valerie actually left me deep impressions. they seems to be one of the S.H.E. ambience's comm. i'll verify with them soon. :p another two were hock meng and hock you. they are twins actually. i was totally shocked, they really resembled each other so much! i even took hock you for hock meng. i was alittle puzzled when hock you looked at me with the "oh a newbie" look. a total embrassment for me. after some observation, i found differences among the twin. their voices are different, hock meng's sound more bright, or maybe a little kiddy, hock you's was deeper, i think. the specs, shoes, pants and bags were different too. hock meng wore a yellow (by the side) specs while hock you wore a black one. this distinct difference gave me a great way to differ shape the two of them. i was felt a little conned by kenneth's words. he said that they were very much different, looks-wise too. :P it'll be another new day for me, another new working experience. i seriously hoped it'll be a better day for me. i dont wanna stand there and stared into space, still blurred lahx, so embrassing! :P until then, i'm signing off. my lovely bed! here i come! ![]() Joanne |
